Sau Bay Sanctuary
This spectacular Dive Site is located only 4 minutes from our resort by boat and boast an incredible array of soft coral formations with canyons and large bommies of staghorn corals, brain coral. This dive site also is one of our adopted dive sites under PADI's Adopt The Blue initiative, which means that we conduct a variety of conservation activities that our guests are welcome to participate in.
4 Minutes from Sau Bay!
This snorkel spot is a hidden secret and generally not visited by other dive and snorkel operators. As a Gateway dive site to the Rainbow Reef, located only 4 minutes by boat from Sau Bay Resort, its an amazing spot that rivals some of the dive sites on the Rainbow Reef itself. Good visibility, small currents and shallow reef formations make this an exceptional snorkel site as well as a fantastic second or third dive. This is also a great alternative spot when weather is not cooperating out at the broader Rainbow Reef.
Incredible Coral Formations
While not known for huge schools of fish, this reef makes up for it with its breathtaking coral formations, canyons, staghorn coral and brain coral outcrops. In addition, soft coral are present, just like at our house reef, showcasing that this reef is part of the larger Rainbow Reef system.
Help us Make a Difference!
Even as snorkelers you can make a difference by helping us find Crown of Thorn (COT) Starfish on the reef as a way to keep this reef healthy! These predatory starfish can decimate entire reef systems if population explosions are allowed to go unchecked. Sau Bay Resort, as part of our Adopt the Blue initiative has adopted this incredible dive and snorkel site to protect the reef by conducting a long-term COT population control program.
